Cargo Poles

Before I left to go on my walk up through the Americas I designed and built my very own type of hiking pole. I call them my Cargo Poles.
Now.... they weren't named after me! My nickname, Cargo, was actually given to me because of an earlier version of poles that I had made when I hiked the Appalachian trail back in 2011.
Anyhow, I designed these poles with the intention of being able to carry some of my gear (or cargo) inside of them as I walk, instead of on my back.  And, I have to say that they have done a marvelous job. In fact, everyone that I meet out here are amazed and very inquisitive about my poles.
I put in a lot of time and thought when I was designing these poles. And although the fruit of my labor (an incredibly sleek and efficient aluminum design)is now sitting in a file somewhere in the U.S. Patent office awaiting the end of this road trial, the actual pair of poles that I carry with me were thrown together with whatever items I could find at my disposal at the time. You might recognize some of these items in the picture. They include parts of plastic and aluminum baseball bats, an automobile oil funnel, tubes off a leaf blower, a couple of bolts for tips and some good ole JB weld.
The great thing about them is that inside of them I can carry my tent, tent poles, food, water, first aid kit and whatever other item I deem necessary to distribute my weight.
As it turns out, they are one of the most important items that I have with me.
In addition, they play another role out here as my only companions as I cover hundreds of empty miles of desolate landscape in Argentina. What's that you say?
Well.....As part of my introduction to the "Cargo Poles" I was inclined to write a poem.
I hope you like it :) I apologize to all my Spanish friends for not having a good translation of the poem. It's just too difficult for me to attempt.
